Henry Giroux is a dissident educational scholar who pioneered something called critical pedagogy. The goals of critical pedagogy are emancipation: its targets are racism, sexism, capitalism and and really, any form of oppression. Its methods are through raising the public consciousness -- it’s an educational project, not a detailed political plan.
